Molly O'Bier

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Molly S. O’Bier (née Stark) announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the age of 81 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas O’Bier; her children: Johanna (Joseph) Wieting Muscat and Ingrid (Tim) Damiani; grandchildren: Isaac and Elliott Muscat, David, Rachel (Tyler) and Jesse Damiani; her brother, Cruce (Nancy) Stark; and her nieces, Kate and Litza Stark. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Alice and Cruce Stark.

Molly was born in Jefferson, Texas, on April 24, 1941. She worked as a professor of English literature in Texas and Louisiana and as a special needs teacher in California, before retiring in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a passionate advocate for the causes she believed in, including women’s equality and civil rights. Always eager to travel and see the world, she enjoyed several trips to Europe with her family. Throughout her life, Molly’s love of the arts led her to visit museums and attend the symphony as often as possible.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to their friends for their love and support during this time of loss. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Molly’s name to Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2105 Park Avenue, Suite 19, Orange Park, Florida 32073.

  1. So sorry about Molly passing. I know Molly was my brother Tom O'Bier one true love in life. If there was a couple that was soulmates it was Tom and Molly.
    She was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed. Her soul is at peace and free from all the health pains she suffered .
