Newman James Mickler, Jr. 80, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on January 18, 2025.
He was born on November 30, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL. Known as “Newmie” by all those close to him, he served in the United States Army (Honorable Discharge) in his earlier adult hood before working in a local shipyard and finally finding his niche at a local car wash where he was a wearer of many hats. While sporting his signature mustache, Newmie enjoyed golf, bowling (and collecting bowling trophies), riding dirt bikes, and working on race cars with his brothers.
He was predeceased by his father Newman “Buddy” Mickler, his mother Annie Mickler, and his brother Alfred Mickler.
He is survived by his two daughters Betsy Booth (Jim) and Leslie Dahlman (Ray), his brothers Philip Mickler (Pat) and Larry Mickler (Rita), his sisters Shirley Jones and Debbie Hall (Ed), four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will not be a service per Newman’s wishes. However, respects can be made by making a donation in his name to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida- 4114 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, Fl. 32257
