Patricia A. Donatelli

August 17, 1938 ~ July 21, 2025

Patricia A Donatelli passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2025, surrounded by those she loved.

Pat as she was affectionately known, was a shining light to all who knew her kind, caring, generous, nurturing spirit. She was born in Miami, Florida, August 17, 1938, to Andrew and Helen Jerguson. Pat graduated from the University of Miami in 1960 and spent her entire career with the Dade County Public Schools. She started as a Physical Education teacher and became a Guidance Counselor in her eighth year…helping hundreds of young students become better adults. Pat retired in 1993, her and Madelyn moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where Pat’s second career of carpenter, architect, engineer flourished.

As an exceptional athlete and teacher, her love for sports or games never wavered…a love that she has passed down to all of us. Pat had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge…spending her spare time traveling the world, or researching topics of interest…and then filing away that information in case someone might need it.

Pat is survived by and dearly missed by her spouse Madelyn, daughters Kim (Bill) and Dawn (Mike). Grandchildren Michael (Liseth), Maddie (Matt) and Jackson (Chelsea)…her sister Doris, and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy of kindness, helping others, finding humor, and loving passionately will live on for generations.

Thank you for all your love and support.

  9. Pat was our friend for more than a half a century. She aways had a positive vibe provided to all. We will always remember her and are grateful she was our friend.

  10. Pat and Madelyn were so special in my life…always glad to see me when visiting. Pat was a kind and loving soul. She shared her love, wisdom and knowledge to always help others. A wonderful listener with a good sense of humor. I envied her practical knowledge in how to "figure things out"…her workshop was a reflection of her many skills. I'll treasure the game and puzzle time that we enjoyed together. A friend that I will truly miss. Rest in peace…..pain free! You will be sorely missed ❤️

  11. As a child my mother and father would take us over to visit. I remember always feeling loved by her entire family. My fondest memory was playing on the Jungle Jim they had created on the side of the house lots of fun. My last memory was seeing her and Madilyn at the Pinecrest Gardens She was in Miami visiting.

  12. Pat was an absolute original. A wonderful teacher and a font of wisdom. As I said on Facebook, she was quite simply the strongest and most-loving person we ever met. RIP Aunt Pat, We did hear however, that there are a couple projects in Heaven the Angels are stuck on and could use some engineering help.

  13. Madelyn, Kim, Dawn – sorry for your loss. She was a rare gift of the spirit – joyful, patience, kind, competitive, positve, inclusive, and a problem solver. She was good! I'm comforted to know she's busy fixing the universe. My love to her and you.

  14. Pat, my dearest friend for 73 years.  Oh!  How I cherish our talks, laughs travels, games (altering them to suit us) and just time together.  I didn’t realize how much you meant to me until you were gone. You are missed.  Rest in peace and see you in the bleachers.  My thoughts and prayers are with Madelyn, Dawn, Kim, and family.  With Love, Jessie Girl
