Peder S Winkel

Peder S. Winkel, age 71, of Trenton, Florida, Loving Husband, Father, Grandad, and Friend, passed away on January 25, 2024, after battling cancer for 5 years. 

Peder was born in Long Island, New York. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Midway in his youth. While in the Navy he met the love of his life in the Philippines and married Estelita Winkel. They had 2 children, Sarah and PJ and eventually settled their home near Trenton, FL. He found his faith in Jehovah God with the High Springs Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he enjoyed much love and friendship. Peder retired from the University of Florida, Facilities Services Department after over 35 years of service. In his retirement he found a passion for the adventure of fishing with his buds. 

Peder is survived by his Wife of 51 years, Estelita Winkel, Daughter - Sarah Thomas with Grandsons - Alex Thomas, Byron Thomas, and Benjamin Thomas, and Son - Peder J. Winkel and Wife Anastasia Winkel with Granddaughter - Lilliana Winkel, Family and Extended Family throughout Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, (across the US) and the Philippines. May his memory fill the hearts of his family and friends forever.
