Randy Jack Goodson, 75, of Reddick, FL passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on May 24, 2023, with family at his side, after an extended battle with Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born June 14, 1947, in New Castle, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Charles Goodson and Elizabeth Pickett Goodson Conwell, stepfather Charles Conwell, and his brothers, Steve, Tom and Daryle.
Growing up in Indiana, he was known in his childhood as “Candy Rack Jack” for always having a candy bar in his back pocket. He won several trophies competing in drag racing. He was employed with Kemper Cabinets, Hills’ Roses greenhouses and delivered tombstones to cemeteries before moving to Reddick, Florida in 1984 with his wife and three daughters. He worked as a laborer on various horse farms, was a delivery driver for Lowe’s for many years, delivered for a plumbing company, worked landscaping, and also worked as a security guard. An avid Dallas Cowboys football fan, he enjoyed deer hunting and singing. He was a member and greeter for Meadowbrook Church, Ocala. In his years after retirement, he enjoyed taking long walks daily and spending time sharing memories and laughing with family. He always found great pleasure in helping others.
He is survived by his sister Connie (Danny) McMillan, half-sister Brenda (Greg) Keeton; daughters, Jackie Goodson, Cathy (Brian) Kuhl, and Lisa Bynes; grandchildren, Randy Cook, Trey (Amber) Cook, Bradley Cook, Kadijah Bynes, Elton Bynes III, and Josef Kuhl and great grandson Grayson Cook.
