In Loving Memory of Rebecca Cecilia Metivier November 18, 1944 – October 21, 2025
Rebecca Cecilia Metivier, age 80, of Hawthorne, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. Born on November 18, 1944, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Rebecca lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and quiet strength.
She devoted over 30 years to a career in telecommunications, where she served as a Customer Service Director. Later in life, she continued her commitment to service as a Program Assistant with the University of Florida.
Rebecca’s marriages were each a chapter in her life reflecting her enduring belief in love and partnership. She was preceded in death by her husbands William Dukes, Sr., Robert Henderson, and Paul Metivier.
A proud and passionate Gator fan, Rebecca bled orange and blue. Whether cheering from the stands or from her living room, she never missed a chance to support her Florida Gators.
Rebecca’s heart was always with her family. She found joy in cooking for loved ones and took great pride in canning vegetables, pickles, and jellies—gifts that were as heartfelt as they were delicious.
She was a past member of the Hawthorne Lion’s Club and a devoted congregant of the Holy Communion Episcopal Church and Eden Baptist in Hawthorne, Florida. Her faith and community involvement reflected her deep belief in giving back and lifting others up.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Sheryl DeeAnne Dukes; her son, William Alfred Dukes, Jr.; and her beloved grandson, Trent Nathan Dukes. She will be remembered as a caring and giving soul whose kindness touched everyone she met.
Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Metivier family.

Every Christmas I always got the cranberry Jello even after she stopped cooking I got a pan from Paul. I will remember her in everything that she did for me. Always giving me a hand up. Never once did she ever say no if I needed something. The last act of her caring heart is something that I will always be dear to my family & I. She was like no other. I enjoyed hearing her stories. There were so many special times we shared. I will miss her dearly ♥️
