Rita June Till

March 31, 2023

It is with heavy hearts to announce that R. June Till (Lewis), of Jacksonville, FL passed away 31 Mar, 2023, at Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, FL from natural causes.  Born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, June met her husband of 33 years, Craig A. Till, Sr. (U.S. Navy, Ret.) while he was stationed at the Naval Facility Argentia, Newfoundland.  As they traveled to their duty stations, she held positions of Club Manager, Bingo Manager, and Gaming Manager with the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department. The majority of her career was spent at the Mayport Naval Station between 1995-1998 and from 2004-2018 when she retired as the Gaming Manager.

Following her retirement, she would visit garage sales, flea markets, and auctions in search of antiques, jewelry, and collectibles which she would meticulously repair, clean and resell online.  It was a hobby that she thoroughly enjoyed and it kept her happily occupied during her retirement.

June is survived by her husband Craig of Jacksonville, FL; son Lonnie Dixon (Julie) of Princeton, B.C.; daughter Fathom Lee Dixon of Cambridge, Ont.; stepson Craig A. Till, Jr. of Sumter, SC; ten grandchildren; brothers Dave (Brenda), Jim (Cathy), and Perry (Judy); and sisters Dale (Mike) and Marie.  She is reuniting in death with her parents, Fred and Olive Lewis, her step-son, Jonathan Till and brother, Raymond.

June should be remembered most for her heart of gold in giving to anyone in need.  She loved fiercely and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.  At her request, there will not be any services held.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Till family.
