Ronnie Lee Burgin (11/10/1951-9/01/2024)
Ronnie Lee Burgin, 72 years old, of Glen Saint Mary, Florida, died in Gainesville, Florida on September 1, 2024.
Ronnie was born in Danville, Kentucky to William & Doris Burgin. He graduated from Baker County High School in 1969. The same year he joined the Air Force and retired after 20 years in 1989. Following his first retirement, he relocated with his family to Florida and worked for the Department of Corrections in Raiford, Florida until he retired again after 17 years in 2006.
Ronnie was preceded in death by parents, William (Doris) Burgin, by brother William “Billy” (Linda) Burgin, and by son Richard Summerlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maribel Ann Burgin; daughters Lisa Bruck (Drogo), Renee Burgin (Ronnie Crosby), Katherine Burgin (Freddy Gonzalez); son William (Shayne) Burgin; grandchildren, Landon Bruck, Kelsey Burgin, Khloe Little, Trindonn Burgin; sister, Joan B. Magyari; and as well as his beloved nephews, nieces, and their families.
Everyone who knew Ronnie knew him for his patriotism, love for the USAF, and for serving his country with pride. No one will ever forget him being a die-hard Kentucky wildcat fan. We will always remember him proudly shouting, “Go Big Blue!” during every football and basketball game. We will miss our husband, father, grandfather, and brother every day. He will forever remain in our hearts and we know he is flying high into the wide blue yonder.
The family plans to have a Celebration of Life on his birthday, Sunday, November 10, 2024. The arrangements will be shared with family and friends when the event details are finalized.

I remember the wonderful times the four us shared in the Philippines, You, Ann, Bob, and I.
