Roy (Solie) Byrd, age 66, of Hawthorne FL went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 11,2021 in Gainesville FL. He was born on Friday November 12,1954 in Plant City FL to John Owen and Bertie Lou Gunn Byrd.
Roy loved his family more than anything. Roy enjoyed racing and was at the track everytime it was open. Roy was a driver himself of the 00 Car. Roy served in the United States Marine Corp.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Bertie, Brothers, Alvin Jordan, Wilson (Shorty) Byrd, John Aubrey Byrd, Jerry (Kernal) Byrd, Norman (Mac) Byrd, sisters Dorris (Dot) Terrell, Vernell Stegall, Dorthy Jean Nalley, Sharon Byrd, and Linda Byrd.
Roy is survived by his loving children Justen Byrd, Shanna Kern, Scott Byrd, Michael Byrd, his 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Pee-Wee) Byrd, a host of nieces and nephews, and the love of his life Michele.
Roy's cremation is under the care of Crevasse's Simple Cremations in Gainesville FL.
