Mr. Roy Lee Luke, age 73, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his side on May 24, 2023, at the Baptist South Center for Caring. Roy was born on July 4, 1949, in Ocilla, GA, to the late Drew and Edith Luke. He spent his early years residing in Union County, joined the Army at the age of seventeen and served in the Vietnam war. He spent most of his civil service career working at NAS Jacksonville NADEP engine rework facility managing the test cell department while residing in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years Janet Margret Luke, brother Earl and sister Drulene Richardson. Mr. Luke is survived by his daughter, Melynda (Doug) Batchelor, and sons, Tai (Ly Le) Do, Jerry Paul “JP” Luke, Michael Frank, and Carl (Mary) Luke; grandchildren, Sarah Batchelor, Josh Batchelor, Trey-c Thomas , Anthony Allen, Brandon Luke, Luke Do and Garrett Cochran; brother Gary Luke, sister Mary Taylor, and dog Sam. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
