Sammie Dorsey Talbot

Sammie Talbot passed on to join her Lord on June 26, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, a bank teller at First National Bank on Main Street in Gainesville Florida, and later worked in the Post office inside Gresham’s Drug Store. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Talbot Sr, her son Anthony G. Talbot and his wife Mary, and all members of her nuclear family the Dorsey’s.

She is survived by her son James A. Talbot Jr. (DeeDee) and her daughter Susan Demko (David), her grandchildren Samuel, Jeffrey (Chanae), Samantha, Brandon (Kendall), and Kyle, her great grandchild Case, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong Baptist, first with First Baptist Wewahitchka, FL, then after moving to Gainesville with her husband she raised her children in First Baptist Gainesville on University Avenue, and finally from around 1983 at Archer Baptist Church when her family moved to Archer. She loved her family dearly and was active in church until her health prevented it. She had a love for life that shown brightly through her eyes and her smile. She touched many lives and is missed by all who knew her.
