Seone Dorothy Gehrke, 87, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1937, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, daughter of William and Dorothy Hadrich. After completing high school, Seone attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she received an undergraduate degree in secondary education. While taking university courses in Oshkosh, she met fellow student and love of her life, Maurice (Maury) Gehrke, and they married on June 13, 1959, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Seone was a high school English teacher for over 30 years at East High School in Green Bay, WI. In 1994, Seone and Maury moved to Ocala, FL and loved their retired life and friends in central Florida. Seone was an avid reader, conversationalist and accomplished golfer, winning numerous tournaments and club events over the years. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Seone is survived by her daughter Maureen Wilcox (Jeff), grandson Nicholas Wilcox and granddaughter Sarah Wilcox (Kostas). Seone was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Maury.

I remember when we were kids spending summers with our grandma (Ella Lueders) at the Sliver lake tavern going out in the woods looking for snapping turtles in the creek behind the tavern. Saturday nights looking out the window on the second floor as people from all around coming to the dance pavilion. Big name bands from as far away as Chicago would play. We never kept in touch when I joined the Navy but after I retired now and then we managed to visit Seone and Maury. May her memory be eternal.
