Sheila (Riding) Zador, a devoted and beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 84, in Jacksonville Florida. Born on January 23, 1940 in Leeds, England, Sheila was a warm and deeply caring person who built strong ties with family and friends that could not be diminished by time or distance Sheila combined a curiosity and openness to experience that led her to travel far from her birthplace in the tightknit community of Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire with a love of family that made her cherish each letter, phone call and visit with her parents and family in England and from friends that became like family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt who always had the time to share joys and sorrows and give love and comfort even as she delt with grace and dignity with the burdens of her own chronic illness. Those who had the privilege of knowing her recall that she always saw the best in people and poured her whole heart into everything she did from devoting herself full time to her children to later supporting her professors, coworkers and students while working as a secretary at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy New York to her many years of loving care of her husband Eugene during his long illness. Sheila was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Zador and her cherished sister, Linda (Riding) Heaton. She is survived by her two loving children, Steven Zador and wife Karen (Valyou) Zador, Louise (Zador) Spierre and husband John Spierre, by her five cherished grandchildren Alison Zador and fiancée Daniel Farrell, Chloe Zador and wife Holly (Rawcliffe) Zador, Joshua Spierre, James Spierre and Elizabeth Spierre, by her sister Jennifer (Riding) Wildon her niece Victoria Heaton, nephew Richard Wildon, and her adored great nieces and nephews Amy, Alex, Lydia and Jasper. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her fondest wish was to always be present in spirit to loved ones in her twin homes in the US and England.
