Shirley Tyree

September 21, 2022

Shirley Anne Tyree, 72, of Gainesville, FL passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

She married Thomas Tyree 8/8/2015 in Inverness, Florida.

Hobbies she enjoyed included shopping, decorating her home, and creating beautiful flower arrangements.

Shirley loved life. She was always looking at the positive in every situation. She took in foster children and went on vacations with them and allowed them to experience love and the good life that every child should have. She accepted a disabled man into her home and gave him the best care for several years. She loved helping others.

She was one of five children and the only girl. She grew up on a dairy farm and had to milk cows everyday. She is survived by two brothers, Gerald John Hoy DOB 2/9/53 of Virginia and Gary Joseph Hoy
DOB 8/9/46, Florida. One child Philip Muse and Christy, Florida. One grandson Shaiden Muse 12 years old, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley loved to cook big meals for family and friends. She made the best homemade pies and pie crusts you would ever have the pleasure of enjoying.

She loved decorating the house with Christmas decorations and enjoyed watching children when they would open their presents. She especially loved Christmas because she wanted to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

  1. You made our family feel so welcome into your home the 1st time we met you. You are going to be missed. We know you & Tom we’re so in love & happy. Fly high sweet Shirley.

  2. My sincerest condolences to Tom and the rest of her family. When I met Shirley I knew she was a kind soul. You could see it in her eyes and more so, by her actions with everyone. I am saddened by her passing but more so now for Tom who I know will miss her dearly. RIP sweet lady and go rest high on that mountain.

  3. I wrote on a card that was included with the fresh flowers I got you and told you, “You have changed my life forever”.  You always brightened up my day with your warm hugs, and you were always telling me, “I Love You”.
I am sure that we were one because I feel like half of my world is missing. I will always love you Pumpkin. You definitely were my true love. I know that Heaven has welcomed you into eternal life where there will be no more pain. I am thankful to our Lord for that promise. I will be with you again one day. ❤️
