Stanley Robert Garis

Stanley Robert Garis, 73, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. He was the son of Edna Yoder (Garis) Geyer and Erwin Stanley Garis.

Stanley, also known as Bob to family and friends, grew up in Blooming Glen, PA, and Souderton (Hilltown Township), PA, until graduation from Pennridge High School in 1970. Bob also attended East Stroudsburg State College in PA until 1973, when he married Marie Christine (Slemmer) Garis. They were married 52 years on September 1, 2025. He then started his working career at the former Cassel’s Produce in Hilltown Township for 11 years, and then moved on to Clemens Food Group for 32 years of service before retiring.

Bob’s interests were many. He loved to travel, taking Marie on roadtrips through beautiful Pennsylvania, the New England States and down to the Carolinas, and finally ending up in Florida in 2016 where he would reside for 9 years. He also liked planning airline trips that took him and his wife to Cancun, Italy, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

He loved reading and was a great sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Eagles. In high school, Bob participated on both the football and track teams at Pennridge. In the early 80’s, he coached football and girls track, also in the Pennridge School District, for a short time. Most recently, he served as a volunteer for a local hospital in Florida. Bob was never too busy to chat or help someone in need. He loved being around people and meeting new friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marie, and his daughter, Rae Wismer, Married to Brian, 6 grandchildren: Taylor Marie, Caleb Andrew, Gwendalyn Rae, and Eve Catherine Wismer, all residing in Florida, and Hailey Renee’ and Beau Joseph Robert Garis of Las Vegas, Nevada, residing with Gina Ellen Garis, his daughter-in-law. A step-grandson, Zackree Talbert, resides in Pennsylvania. Bob also survived by two siblings, Julie Geyer Moser, married to Russ, and a brother Brian Edward Geyer, Married to Rhonda. Bob was most recently preceded in death by his son, Brent Robert Garis, and step-father Otto E. Geyer. He was also preceded in death by his mother Edna Yoder (Garis) Geyer and father Erwin Stanley Garis.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, they request a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
