Since retirement, Genie has been active with her church. She has been involved with the recovery ministry, teaching Bible classes to women. She has served on the board of the House of Hope- a transition house for ex-offenders since 2006.

Genie's hobbies include biking, kayaking, walking, quilting, gardening and reading.

Guestbook

  1. We will very much miss Genie, worked at USDA with her and saw her on her many walks in Deer Run. She was always a pleasure to have around.

  2. I worked with Genie (Susan) from 1989-2000 in the same lab. She taught me so much during that time.  She was the first person that taught me how to use and program databases, which eventually lead me to a career in IT.   She was an incredibly smart and talented field technician as well as computer specialist.  She often shared her love of gardening and singing in church. I will always remember her fondly.
