On Tuesday May 17th, 2022, at Haven Hospice in Lake City Florida, Thomas William Hodge (53) went home to be with our Lord after a battle with cancer. He was born on October 1st, 1968, on Long Island New York to Patricia and Billy Hodge who were happily awaiting his arrival in Heaven along with many other friends and family. He loved being outdoors. He enjoyed bicycling, baseball, paintball, and fishing. His favorite pastime was watching sports. He was a faithful New York Yankees, Giants, and Islanders fan. He also enjoyed watching movies and TV shows and listening to music. He said it was his way to relax, relieve stress and remember the good times in his life. He loved New York in any capacity, but his favorite place in the world was the ocean. He often said it was where his spirit felt most free and where he felt the closest to God. His biggest dream was to see Hawaii, and hopefully his spirit has now achieved that. Some of his favorite things were coffee, ice cream, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, pizza, and French fries. Animals of any kinds were special to him. It was quite normal for him to bring home a stray dog, a lost kitten, or something that needed a home. All of his pets greatly miss him, however the one that will miss him the most, who he referred to as his “crazy wife” , is his cat Sookie.
What he loved most in the world were his family and friends. He is survived by many aunts and uncles; Diane and Roger Clarke, Linda and Kenny Voight, Tommy and Jeanie Theisen, Richard Theisen, Richard Trevelyan, Marie and Vinny Planz, Ruth Hodge, and Randy Dabbs. He was preceded in death by his uncles Jimbo Hodge, Frankie Hodge, and Raymond Hodge. He was much loved by his many cousins which are too numerous to list. Through his parents and stepparents, he was blessed with six siblings. Michael Hodge married to Antoinette, Billy Hodge married to Melissa, Cheryl Hodge, Victoria Lupton married to Christopher, Jesse Hodge, and Georgia Hodge. His favorite roll was being an uncle to his nieces and nephews: Devin Hodge, Summer and Kyle Hodge, Penelope and Rylee Lupton and Landon Lupton. He also had what he described as “brothers from other Mothers” Andrew Boughal, Christopher Delillo, and Steven Lupton.
It didn’t matter where he was, whether it be at work, home, or church he presented himself as “The Mayor”. He genuinely cared about people and tried to always find a way to help someone in need. Although his work on earth was done, and we have comfort in knowing he is at peace in Heaven for eternity, he will be greatly missed. His kind loving spirit, fun loving attitude, and infectious laugh will be remembered in our hearts and minds forever. There will be a Celebration of Life at Christ Central Church in Lake City Florida. Please contact family for date and time. As per his wishes, there will be a private cremation and a private scattering of his ashes at sea.

I love you Tommy. Go rest high.
