  1. Over a year ago, Tim embarked on a new quest. He sought to fill his life with astonishing, unique and meaningful moments involving compassion for others, engaging in community and outreach programs, arts, music, exotic & spicy cuisine, natural parks, wildlife and so much more!

Breathtaking natural settings beckoned him & Dexter. Together, they explored places like Hogtown Creek (discovering shark teeth), Millhopper's Devil Den, Payne's Prairie, the Spirit of the Suwannee River and even Newman's Lake. I asked, "You didn't swim there it's full of gators." Laughing, he said "No, but I thought about it!"

One day, his call was full of energy and excited. He was taking Dexter camping at the Spirit of the Suwannee River. spontaneously I began singing, "Way down upon the Suwannee River." Ironically, I too felt the river tugging at my soul. I told him about the glistening river, it's steep banks and the wildlife. I reminded him every summer a musical festival was held there. Later, he messaged me about the tranquil joy it gave him.

Time, his mother & I hiked through Payne's Prairie. Climbing up the tall tower seeking a High place" to see the park. Through the binocular lens we saw Blue Herons searching for food, flocks of white birds and an Eagle soaring. But , no Bison!

At Lake Alice, we laughed at the lazy gator sunbathing and then were attracted to the glistening cathedral overlooking the lake. We peeked through the windows but were unable to enter because a sign read "closed for a wedding." Tim was able to convince the people setting up for the event to let us visit just for a brief moment. Of course, they let him in and soon joyously told him about their excitement for the celebration.

See that was Tim, witty, fun-filled, electric and possessed the ability to captivate all with his charismatic, upbeat personality. I wonder how many knew of his generous, outpouring empathy and compassion for all. In his car, he kept coats and boxes of shiny, aluminum-like blankets and even dog food to give to those living on the streets.

Similar to the endless flow of water rising from the springs, Tim's hope and dreams were to uplift and improve the lives of all. I will never, ever forget all the kindness, joy, laughter, loyalty and compassion he gave freely. The world needs more people like Tim!

  2. Timothy Michel was my Academica teacher this year. Although I didn't get the time to speak much to him; it was apparent that he cared a lot for others and that he did his best for his students to learn and be joyful.

  3. Dearest Cindy,

We are heartbroken and deeply saddened to hear of your loss of Tim.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

    With Loving Memory,

  4. I still can't believe you're gone. I keep finding things online that I would normally share with you and laugh with you about. Now, I send them to your mom and we remember you and your sense of humor. You always knew what to say to cheer someone up and you were so selfless. You were such a kind person and truly the best teacher ever. Any student that you have ever taught would say you were their favorite teacher. You are truly missed.

  5. Timmy was a close friend for years. Don’t know where to start with how many memories we had. We spoke the night before. Heartbroken

  6. From the moment Tim entered this world, his eyes were wide open and seemed to be searching in wonder….alert to every little sound. Tim's joy was contagious! His deep caring for others through his actions carried on from toddler to adulthood. He was one of the special ones who truly "walked the talk" doing so much for people he would see who were in need. Never talking about all he did; just doing. I am blessed to have had him in my life for 31 years, too, making the words grandmother (Mamah) so very extra special. You will be missed forever, Tim, by all who came into your life….and that you touched and gave your all.

  7. Through thick and thin, he was always there for those fortunate enough to be in his life. Tim possessed infectious energy, potent intellect and an incredibly sharp mind. He was incredibly thoughtful…so many stories come to mind. His light remains via his example of magnanimity and generosity. His impact will not be lost on us. Rest in peace, Timothy. You were an incredible human being and friend.

  8. Although there are no words that can bring Timmy back, I know that he would have wrote something for me because he was just a great person. I originally met Timmy when my family moved to Naples when I was 11yrs old and his dad Chip drafted me to be on their little league team. Little did I know that Timmy and I would be become very close life long friends. We grew up together and did not like losing in sports lol so we always got along. I will never forget the memories that we were able to make. He was the most loyal friend that I have ever had in my life and would do anything to help anyone. Timmy I will always miss you buddy and I love you.

  9. Oh what amazing memories I have, we were so lucky to have spent summers at the “O” and spring times in Naples. Thank you for sharing your love of the ocean and baseball! My favorite memories were of when Mary-Lee and Mike would talk about you, oh god did you light up their lives💙You made them so incredibly proud! Honestly you made us all so proud. The Woodward’s can’t believe it still, we are sad we will not be able to see all the wonderful things you would have done on this earth and selfishly wish we had more time💙We love you!

  10. Tim was a very kind and generous person. I am blessed to have known him. I am sorry for all of those close to him and hope they are comforted. Tim made the world a better place.

  11. Tim, thank you for all the time you spent hanging out with me and my family in Ocean City every summer. You were the best at helping me win tickets at the casino and pushing me onto the big waves! We will never forget your kindness and all the love you showed us. We miss you so much and love you!

  12. Thank you. For your friendship. For the memories. For all the solicited and unsolicited advice. For always having my back. For teaching us you can be stubborn but you need to put others before yourself. For trying to make the world a better place and following your passion for education. One of a kind Timo. I miss you man, see you again.

    Timmy,

For those of us who knew you and loved you during your time here, you enriched our world and our lives beyond measure.

The code by which you lived was one of fierce loyalty, compassion, generosity and integrity. You saw the preciousness, uniqueness, and inherent value of each life on this earth – whether friend, foe, or stranger. To know you was to love you, because you loved us all.

Without hesitation, you fearlessly protected, defended, and stood up for the dignity and well-being of every soul you crossed paths with – without exception – every day of your life.

To you, no one was unworthy of your love. Not a single person was “less than,” in your eyes. You had a servant’s heart, and you wore it on your sleeve. Your grace was matched by your humility. You would give a stranger the shirt off your back, and I’ve seen you do it!

Your good deeds and acts of kindness were always quietly given, with no fanfare, never once seeking accolades or attention… That wasn’t your style. And, My God, you had style.

The true measure of your greatness is found in the lives you have touched, and, Timmy… you were so great. You always led from the front, letting your actions do the talking, and inspiring those around you to be better – better versions of ourselves, and better to those around us.

You were a natural leader, and your magnetic energy filled any room you were in. Regardless of our different ages, our different temperaments, talents, or convictions, we all looked up to you. I look up to you still.

Your impact on this world and the people in it grows each day, rippling outward from your kindness and the love you shared with us. This is your legacy, and it will remain on this earth long after those of us who now mourn you, likewise leave this world to join you on the next great adventure.

The immensity of your impact on us is equaled only by the vastness of the hole left in our hearts without you in our lives. With your loss, a part of us is gone now, too. A part of us will be missing, always. Life will be less joyful, less kind, and less exciting without you. There will certainly be less laughter.

It is selfish of us, I suppose, that we who are so shattered, so overwhelmed by grief, we who miss you so much, that we would trade anything, give everything to have just one more day with you… Just one more conversation, one more nature walk, one more phone call, to share one more laugh. Because you were such a gift to us, Tim. We didn’t deserve you, but God we were so lucky to have you. So we will grieve. But in my grief I must remind myself… you were never ours to keep. How grateful I am to have known you, to have learned from you, and to have laughed with you.

You don’t belong to us, Timmy. Now, you belong to the ages. You belong among the cosmos, in the gentle breeze moving through the trees, and within each of us. Your soul is no longer constrained or bound by time or space. Now You are limitless. Now You know all that which we, silly humans, can only still guess about, and wonder. I hope it’s all just as fascinating as you’d imagined it.

You’ve made it home. You are at peace. You’ve finished the race, you’ve fought the good fight, and the light of humanity has gained new luster by your life. Thank you for everything, Timmy. We love you so much, and we will never, ever forget you. Godspeed, my brother.
