We are saddened to announce the unexpected yet peaceful passing of our brother, Vincent “John” Trivison II, on June 16th in Jacksonville Beach, FL, shortly before his 63rd birthday.
John was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and spent his formative years in Latin America before moving to Michigan for his senior year in high school. During this time, he captained the West Bloomfield Golf Team to a successful season. From his very first golf swing at age 3, it became evident that John had a natural talent for the sport, achieving his first club tournament victory at age 5. Throughout his youth, he was a member of various clubs both USA and abroad, winning club tournaments and participating in ProAms with notable professionals.
At age 15, John broke Arnold Palmer’s club record at Wake Forest, gaining notable attention. After high school with several scholarship offers, John initially played at Western Michigan University before agreeing to transfer to Clemson University, “where the weather was far better.” During his time at Clemson, John experienced a successful golf career and developed lasting bonds with teammates, coaches, and members of the Clemson golf community.
After a brief professional golf career, John earned an MBA from U of SC but found corporate life unsuited to him, admitting to his siblings, “I don’t know how you do it, going to an office every day all day, I just can’t do that.” He returned to golf offering private instructions and professional caddying services (a role he embraced with passion) and playing in regional tournaments. He often said, “it’s so frustrating – golf is a sport I love, but a sport I hate.”
John relocated from Atlanta, GA, to Jacksonville Beach, FL several years ago where he enjoyed a tranquil life engaging in activities such as biking along the beach, drinking his early morning coffee on the beach watching the waves, and working as an Independent Golf Contractor at an exclusive golf club on his own terms. John loved Jacksonville Beach and expressed regret having not moved there sooner.
John loved his family deeply and cherished every visit. He especially enjoyed spending time with Dad watching football. We are incredibly grateful John joined our family and friends for an unforgettable Caribbean vacation in January 2025 creating lasting memories that we will treasure forever.
John was dedicated to his faith, his close companions, and his admiration for Clemson. He maintained a simple and private lifestyle, yet he offered unwavering support and commitment to those he held dear. His absence will be profoundly felt. “Peace ” as John always said instead of goodbye.
John is survived by his siblings: Peggy (Scott) Hoelscher, Tom Trivison, Tracy (Mickey Gilbert) Trivison, and Jay (Joye) Trivison. He is also remembered by his nephew Chase Trivison, his niece Kaylea (David) Shuck, and his grandnephew Scotty Shuck.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, his loving parents Anne Marie (1989) and Vincent Trivison (2022), his sister Patricia Anne (1955), and his nephew Christopher Scott Hoelscher (1997).

For the short time I knew John, I admired his apparent “pease of mind” and “laid back attitude”. I was looking forward to getting to know John better as time went on. He will be missed. Rest in peace, John Trivison.
What a great guy. He ran miles for a me, a Gamecock fan during a Clemson game to get me some Advil. Thanks John. You will be missed.

Deepest sympathies to the Trivison Family for their loss.
The Henderson's will always remember Sunday dinners at the Trivison's house in Brazil. Two families bonded by Ford Mo Co Michigan, and living abroad. John and I both attended WMU and I remember meeting him by coincidence on campus. What a real and honest person. A próxima vez, John. Beijos.
Truly one of a kind . No words can really tell how cool this guy was in real life . Such character, they don't make them like the "colonel" anymore
He was at his best out there on the green grassses of Hawks Ridge!! I hope you’re finally playing that perfect round of golf in Heaven!! I’m gonna miss our football (SOCCER) real football conversations JT
He is a good friend and will be dearly for missed.
John was my man. I have never met a more dedicated "coach" to Clemson football and Love for the Lord. We shared hours of phone calls and visits in Jacksonville and it will be heartbreaking without him. I will ever be thankful to the Trivison family for sharing John with me. He is a true friend and brother to me. Rest now in Peace John. We love you.
Miss you John…it's been just over 2 months since we lost you and I think of you often. I never dreamed that spending time together in January would be our last together. I was looking forward to seeing you for my big birthday party but that wasn't meant to be. Again, you are very missed by many. Love ya.
