Violet Victoria McConnell

Violet Victoria McConnell, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2024. She was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on April 28, 1934 to William and Minnie Garland. Violet was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (known as Nanny).
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and love of her life, Brantley Lynn McConnell, sisters Elsie Bauld and Hazel Rickert, and brother Donald Garland.
Violet will be remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Susan (Dale) O’Bar, sons Jeffrey McConnell and Ronald McConnell, sisters Ruth Cook and Norma Garland, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She will live on in hearts of everyone who knew her.

Aunt Violet will be deeply missed. I always enjoyed her visits and phone chats. I can still hear her laughing especially when she was back home in Newfoundland with her family. She will always have a special place in my heart.
