Amy Penird

Amy Penird, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on November 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 21, 1965, in Auburn, NY to Edward and Elizabeth (Wallace) Guy.

Prior to retirement, Amy worked for many years at the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board. Amy and her husband raised their children in Union Springs, NY over three decades and made the decision in 2022 to move to Hernando, FL for warmer weather and Amy’s adoration for dolphins. Amy’s life was centered around the love she had for her family and her dogs. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and a doting grandmother who found immense joy in her grandchildren-Sophia Currier and Colten Currier. Her pride in their accomplishments and her endless support were a constant source of comfort and inspiration to her family. Amy will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the warmth she brought to her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of forty years-Danny Penird Sr.; children-Samantha Penird, Logan Penird; step-children-Connie (Donald) York, Wendy Penird, Farrah Penird; and many step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Alice Dymock and Lois Calarco; nephew-Danny Dymock; and her step-son-Danny Penird Jr.
