Rhea Diane McGaughey 1948-2025
Rhea Diane McGaughey, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on August 29, 2025 at the age of 77. She was born on August 14, 1948 in Orange County, Florida. She attended Eustis High School, Stetson University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Education, and Florida State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Social Work. She worked for the Florida Department of Children and Families. She was notorious for showing up on peoples’ doorsteps with bags of books and liked to take long country drives. She was a kind and generous individual who was loved by all. She loved reading, canoeing, the beach, and the Florida springs. She will be deeply missed.
