It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry Paul Hofmeister, age 88, on December 5th, 2025, in Lake City, Florida. Born on June 5th, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Henry was the beloved son of Joseph Robert and Edna Miller Hofmeister. He lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication to those around him.
Henry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and went on to dedicate 20 years to the Indianapolis Fire Department, where he was known for his courage, commitment, and unwavering work ethic.

A loving husband and father, Henry (Hoffy) was married to Janice Elaine Sidebottom on June 27th, 1981, and together they shared nearly 45 years of happiness and devotion. He was a source of strength and unwavering support to his wife, his children, Summer Elaine Korrin and Jayson Paul Howard, and his extended family.
The youngest of eight siblings, Henry is survived by his brother Joseph Hofmeister, who held a special place in his heart.
Henry had a profound love for God, taking solace in reading scripture daily. His compassion for others was unmatched, and he spent countless hours volunteering in various ministries, always putting others before himself. His passion for animals, music, and history was known to all who loved him. Whether enjoying a good dance or telling a funny story, Henry’s infectious sense of humor and his smile could light up any room.
Above all, Henry will be remembered as a man who gave everything for his family, his faith, and his community. He devoted his time to encouraging and supporting his children in their passions, and his legacy of kindness, joy, and laughter will live on in all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice, children Summer and Jayson, his brother Joseph, and a host of friends and extended family.

Hoffy’s absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but we find comfort in the knowledge that his love and his spirit will live on forever.

  1. Jan,
I know your heart is breaking losing your best friend, my thoughts and Love are with you during this sad difficult time.
Paul was a good man, and I thank him for his service to our country.
Love to Summer and Jayson and the grandkids.

  2. I know Hoffy from a young age, I met him in 1981 through Jan. He was always active and productive. He was always humble and a gentleman. He will be missed, they do not make men like Henry anymore a true patriot.

  3. Wow, where do I start? I met Paul and Jan back in the early eighties, I was in thee street playing ball with the kids, He walked up and introduced himself as Old Paul, well 45 years later I still called him old Paul. We always thought of Paul as a gentleman and we enjoyed many years working together in the home sales business, he was one of the best. I personally felt like we were more than friends and he will be missed! See you soon my friend! Dale Lindhorst 🙏

  4. Jan and Family,
May you all be lifted up on Angels’s Wings! And may God comfort you and your family during this time. May Jesus’s light shine on through all of you!
