Arleen J Gridley

Arleen J. Gridley, 77 of Fruit Cove, Florida passed away November 13, 2024 surrounded by 
loved ones.  She was the life partner of the late Cosmo “Sonny” Ricci, Jr. 
Born October 2, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Marjorie 
(Gridley) Carpenter and stepdaughter of George W. Carpenter. 
Ms. Gridley worked for the City of Providence, Rhode Island for over 25 years before retiring 
in 2000 and subsequently relocating to Florida in 2007.  She was an avid Bingo enthusiast 
and liked to play the slot machines.  She also enjoyed traveling to RI to spend time with 
family and friends.  As the family historian, she was the go-to person for any historical 
dates. 
She leaves one son, Cosmo Ricci, III of Fruit Cove, FL and four siblings, Gail Carpenter of 
Cranston, RI, Robin Cambra of Pawtucket, RI, Douglas Carpenter of Johnston, RI, and 
David Carpenter of Middleburg, FL.  In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, 
great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. 
She will be forever loved and missed.
