Babette Marie McGinnis

July 14, 1960 ~ August 18, 2026

Born in: Delaware, OH
Resided in: St. Augustine, FL
Babette (Babs) McGinnis, St. Augustine, Florida, originally Delaware, Ohio, left her loving family to start her eternal life on August 18, 2026.
Babs shared her life with her husband of almost 33 years, Paul, her daughter Jessica, her son Gregory, Jessica’s husband Austin (Malcolm) and two sweet grandchildren that she loved dearly, Evelyn and Asher.
She leaves her sister Rene (her children Zack, John and Libby), brother Rod and sister-in-law Sherry (her son Nathan), whom she loved and missed living close to.
She will join her mother, father, younger brother, father and mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, as well as the many puppies and cats that unconditionally loved her, in eternal life.
She enjoyed fishing, Ohio State football, cooking, reading, talking with her sister Rene, and many other things, but the time with her children and grandchildren meant more to her than anything in this world.
Babs retired from the Post Office after 33 years, to do the one thing that meant the most to her, which was taking care of her grandchildren and proudly watch her children grow into the adults they have become.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The family will be holding a time of remembrance for her life privately, but we do thank you for your thoughts and prayers for her.

  1. Babs was an amazing person! She always would light up anytime she would talk about her grandchildren and had to show their pictures every chance she had. I think about her daily at the post office because one of the things she did right before she retired from the post office was hide little snack bags of peanut M&Ms all around the office for me. Anytime I see peanut M&Ms or see anything Ohio State football it has me think of her! She was always so caring and considerate and put others before her always. You will be dearly missed by everyone Babs and we will see you again one day! <3

  2. Rene and families, I was saddened to read of Babette’s passing. My prayers surround you all as you mourn the loss of your loved one.

  5. The summer visits from Babs when she would stay with Grammy were always a good time. I will always cherish those early childhood memories playing in the yard with the family. She will be missed but I know she will be with loved ones.

  6. Rene’ and Rod, please accept my thoughts and prayers in the loss your sister. I remember her long red hair and know that she is at peace and joyful to join your mom and dad and Mark.
