Fisherman’s Prayer

Author Unknown

I pray that I may live to fish Until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.

  2. To my baby brother, I feel so blessed to have been able to spend the past year with you. Even though you were taken from all of us way to soon I know you are now at peace. I knew you were at peace the moment you left us.You gave us the most precious gift anyone could give upon leaving this earth. The look of total peace and the most precious smile I have ever seen. This is how I will always remember you, and I thank you so much for that. I know how much you were worried about leaving your family, but we will be ok, knowing that you are always watching over us. I will never forget our fishing trips and the fun we had, and that darn flamingo, Petey.Still cant believe he got so drunk his leg fell off. I know you are finally getting to go on that ultimate fishing trip you always dreamed of, so catch the big one! I also know one day we will be able to go fishing together again, so until then keep my line baited. Oh one last request please giveToby a treat for me. I love you brother, Deb.

  3. My happiest memory with my older brother was the time we went fishing about 15 years ago. We went to some little spot he knew that was a small canal that was by a bridge. We got about 2 dozen live shrimp before we went hoping we would have better luck catching something. Boy, were we in for a surprise! We hit is just right and there were a ton of rainbow trout in the area. They were biting so hard that by the time you got the line in the water, you basically could start reeling in a fish! We did this over and over again until we ran out of shrimp. At that point, Carl said we should try using pieces of white tube sock. I thought he was crazy. Since when do fish strike on a piece of clothing? But sure enough, they kept biting. Maybe not quite as good as with the shrimp but we could keep fishing for a few more hours. I can’t remember how many fish we kept that night but I know it was over a dozen. We got back early the next morning exhausted but having the time of my life. It was just the two of us, which was pretty rare in those days. I wish we had more times like that. I’m sure going to miss you. Catch a big one for me! Love you. 🙂
