David Belknap Nash

David was born September 10, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away on March 6, 2019 in Hawthorne, Florida at the age of 68.

Faith, Honor, Love

David attended P.K. Young High School in Gainesville, FL. He was on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He also was in the band and played the saxophone. After school David had a football scholarship to play college football. He was recruited and offered two places to play, but turned them down to fight for our country. David joined the Air Force and became a Parajumper. He was deployed to Vietnam, serving 3 tours. He became a Sergeant and earned a purple heart and medal of valor. He also was a green and red beret and earned his silver wings. After 44 years David got back with his high school sweetheart Elaine Fiskell and they married March 31, 2016. David loved the game of golf, he played on the PGA Tour and his dream was to get back on the Senior PGA Tour this year. He also loved to have golf tournaments for children with cancer. The last big tournament he had raised $50, 000 by himself. David also loved to fish, especially for flounder, which earned him the nickname Flounder. David had a rare sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He will be dearly missed. The family requests that donations be made to American Childhood Cancer in Davids name.
