David was born in 1977 and grew up in Jacksonville’s Arlington area. From a young age he discovered a passion for things that go fast, first building and racing Remote Controlled cars then graduating to the world of fast and furious cars.
His passion for cars and talent for customizations led him to a career in and around the automotive industry. He worked for numerous dealerships and market leading install shops before opening his own off of Cassat Avenue.
Despite being in a fast paced, high pressure field, his easy going demeanor, robust physique and relentlessly positive outlook earned him the nickname of “Buddah” among co-workers and friends, its a name that stuck with him the rest of life and by which he’s fondly remembered.
Buddah effortlessly made friends with people from all walks of life and was a common fixture at local car shows along with his prized 95 Supra targa top vvti GTE. Single turbo.
In the course of touring the car show circuit he met Portia Keegan. They found a common love of not just cars but in building a life together, along with Portia’s son Wyatt, nothing was stronger than family.
He was preceded by his son, Tanner Joseph Boehnke, and his parents David Neal and Cheryl Ann Boehnke.
Surviving him is his fiancee Portia Keegan, step-son Wyatt Keegan, siblings Bryon Daughtry, Sarah Latham and Mark Boehnke, his niece Kieran Margiotta and nephew Miles Latham.
