I love you aunt Debbie you’ll always be in my heart
In Loving Memory of Deborah K. Rennau
Today we gather to celebrate and remember the life of Deborah K. Rennau — a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and the rock of her family.
Debbie was born on March 28, 1953, and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Throughout her life, she was the person everyone could count on. No matter what someone was facing, she was there with love, support, encouragement, and an open heart. Family meant everything to her, and her love extended far beyond her immediate family. Many of her nieces and nephews looked to her as a source of comfort, guidance, and motherly love throughout their lives.
She spent many years working at the bank before retiring, creating lasting friendships and touching the lives of those around her.
Before her health declined, Debbie loved taking off on adventures and making memories with those she loved most. Whether it was traveling with her sister-in-law Roz or spending time with her best friend Lillie playing cards and simply enjoying each other’s company, she loved getting away, exploring, laughing, and appreciating life’s simple moments.
Debbie also had a special love for the beach. There was something about the sound of the waves, the fresh air, and being near the water that brought her peace and happiness. Some of her favorite moments were simply spending time near the ocean and enjoying its beauty.
Holidays were especially important to Debbie. They weren’t just dates on a calendar — they were opportunities to bring family together. She loved gathering everyone around, creating memories, sharing meals, and enjoying the laughter and togetherness that filled those special occasions.
One of Debbie’s greatest joys was gardening. She loved caring for her plants and could never resist bringing home another one. Somehow, there was always room for “just one more.” And if there wasn’t room, she simply made room. Her family would probably say she didn’t own plants — eventually the plants owned the
House.
She also loved puzzles and enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of sitting down and piecing them together, one piece at a time.
Debbie shared a beautiful love story with her beloved husband, Russell Rennau. They had recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary before his passing — a milestone that reflected years of love, commitment, and the life they built together.
Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Rennau; her parents, Barbara Williams and Jay Williams, Grandmother Maybell Burnsed, Sister Cathy Bell; and brothers Nolan and Jack. Aunt Virgil, and niece, Stacy Kwasnieski; Many find comfort in imagining their reunion.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Wendy Rennau Cortinas, and son-in-law, Ian Cortinas; her stepchildren, Desire Rennau and Randy Rennau; her cherished grandchildren, Kyler Cortinas, Aiden Cortinas, Haleigh Crawford, McKinley Crawford, and Ryne Rennau; her sister, Melanie Tyner, and brother, Mike Williams; Neices and newphews, Ricky Kwasniewski (Mia), Tracey Hutchinson (Ernie), Jennifer Garmon (Mike), Sheila Posey (Scotty), and Andrew Cagle who loved her deeply and were loved by her in return.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life filled with love, strength, kindness, and devotion to family. Debbie’s memory will live on in the stories we tell, the lessons she taught us, and the love she gave so freely.
