Edward H. Holmes, age 56, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on September 15, 2019 at St. Vincent's South Community Hospice in Jacksonville with his loving family by his side. He was born September 14, 1963 in Panama, and grew up on Albrook Air Force Base. He attended schools in Lanett, Alabama and Warner Robins, Georgia. Mr. Holmes served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983 to 1987. While in the military he studied Aviation, and that is where his love of airplanes began. He then went on to graduate from The University of Florida in 1991. He was a Banker by trade and his hobbies included football, especially the Florida Gators, cars, and most of all spending time with his wife and his loving children, who he loved with all of his heart, especially at the beach. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Toniann Holmes; children, Daniel, Marcial and Rachaelreese Holmes; mother, Mitzie Murrill (John);sister, Sivia Holmes Lowenthal; nephews, Shane Andrews of Valley, Alabama, Rhett and Jake Wicker of Jacksonville and Levi Lowenthal also of Jacksonville; brother-in-law, Bill Mailloux of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Holmes. Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to be serving the Holmes family.

It was pleasure getting to know Ed and working with him. He always had a positive attitude and he always tried to help others that he worked with. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I hate that I didn't get to see you before you passed. I have fond memories of us skating. We both loved to skate. My prayers are with his lovely wife, his children and with his sister and the rest of his family. You will be sorely missed.

There are many ways we express our Love for Family and Friends. Eddie aka "Punch" has been a best friend for nearly 30 years, and I will continue to love him by supporting his family as I support mine for as long as I live.
I was present in the beginning of Toniann and You. The smile you had for her was beautiful. You two were meant to be. I am so happy you had a beautiful family together. You will be missed dearly but I know you will be their guardian angel from above watching their every step of their ways!!!

I have such fond memories of my friendship with Eddie and Sylvia early on in his life! I attended Lanett High School with them. I still have the 5×7 picture of him when he first signed with the Marine Corps. Always a handsome fellow! I’m saddened beyond measure to read that he has left us. Yet, I find joy in knowing that he has a beautiful family. I will pray for his loved ones that somehow God can comfort them during this time. Love and hugs to all!
Ed & I met while working together in the bank world. We became such good friends, Ed
& I would go on sales call together. He was always positive, upbeat and had that funny sense of humor that I won't forget.

I remember a kind and happy boy! I am so glad to hear that he continued that awesome nature and shared it so many others. My thoughts and prayers of peace and comfort are for his family and friends. I celebrate his promotion to Glory.
