Gary Edward Brown, born December 30, 1947, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on January 16, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was the beloved son of Marcita Brown and the late Robert Edward Brown. He graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1966 and shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Phyllis. Together, they built a loving family that includes their daughter, Candace Brown; their son, Robert Brown and his wife Jaime; and three cherished grandchildren, Laura Brown, Sam Brown, and Sarah Brown.

Gary was preceded in death by his brother Roger Brown and his grandparents, Ed and Goldie Brown and Everett and Louise Gochenour.

A man of deep faith and dedication, Gary ministered to congregations in Anita and Mondamin, Iowa; Joplin, Missouri; Thayer and Belleville, Kansas; and Russiaville, Indiana. His commitment to serving others extended beyond the pulpit as he transitioned into roles as Camp Manager at Allendale Christian Assembly in Trafalgar, Indiana, and North Florida Christian Camp in Keystone Heights, Florida. He concluded his career as the Church Administrator at Christ's Church in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gary found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren and sharing stories that brought smiles to their faces. His warmth and devotion to his family and faith left an enduring legacy that will be treasured by all who knew him.
