  1. In memory of older brother, Don. The "rock" in our family, forever taking care of any and everyone in need. I found out much later in life that he is the one that primarily paid my college tuition. He was blessed to have had Betty Jenkins, a lifelong friend and confidante. I only recently met her. What an amazing woman!

  2. This is my oldest brother Don, who I literally idolized. An Army veteran who after his military service worked in the defense industry. He completed several "tours" in Viet Nam as a civilian contractor long before the U.S. was officially engaged there. His work in uncovering Civil War artifacts was nearly legendary in that community. His explorations as a diver in both river and ocean environment continued into his 80’s. Simply remarkable! I will always be grateful for his nearly total support of my college education, something that I was not aware of until very late in life. So many things I did not know early in my life among them his relationship with his dear Betty, I am most appreciative of.

  3. In search of a special Don Painter who traveled to Texas to hunt artifacts with my husband in Del Rio Tx. Don was a very nice man and he and my Dudley spent many many hours metal detecting and snorkeling our area of Tx, specifically at Ft Clark. Dudley has passed now also but I treasure my memories of this special Don Painter that shared my husband's love of our great American history. Thank you for his service to our country. God bless you all and bring comfort to your family.
