April 22, 2021

Gina Kay Lynskey, 58, passed away April 22, 2021 at her home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gina was born July 9, 1962 in Bloomington, Indiana to Jerry and Rita (Payton) DeLawter.  She delighted friends and family with her exuberance, graciousness, and laughter.  She cultivated her love of flowers from her grandmother, Margie L. (Nicholson) Payton.  Her work ethic and boundless energy lead Gina to build a successful home cleaning business, and to collect donations for the needy.  Later, Gina brought her expertise in sanitation to the healthcare industry, working passionately to stop the spread of hospital infections.  Gina loved to dance, sing, and spread joy to everyone around her.  Her love of the outdoors, warm sunshine and the beach brought her to Jacksonville, Florida.  She married Brian Lynskey July 23, 2018 in Cumberland Island, Georgia.

Gina was predeceased by her father, Jerry DeLawter.  Surviving are her husband Brian Lynskey; 2 sons and their spouses, Christopher and Nicole (Fleetwood) Short, Jason and Abbey (Fitzwater) Short; mother, Rita (Payton) DeLawter; 2 sisters and their spouses, Tina (DeLawter) and Gary Boggs, Dina (DeLawter) and David Myers; 2 grandchildren, Jackson and Sophie Short; and numerous extended family members.

Memorial donations may be made to the Amethyst House, American Cancer Society, or Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary.  Or, memorialize Gina by planting flowers or a flowering tree in her honor.
