Gwendoline Reynolds passed away January 1, 2019 in Gainesville, FL. She was 83 years old. She was born Gwendoline Ward on January 18, 1935 at home in Kingsbury, northwest London to Maggie May and Frank Ward, the youngest of four girls. She retired as the founding program assistant for the LL.M. Program in U.S. Law at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, where she worked for 18 years. As a child, she was evacuated along with her sister, Phyllis, to Ton Pentre, Mid Glamorgan, Wales, during WWII. Upon returning to London after the war, she attended Oliver Goldsmith School and Kingsbury County Grammar School, both in Kingsbury. She left school at 15, and worked at various positions, including the London office of Australian firm Myers Emporium. She worked in bookkeeping for Taylor Advertising and Royds Advertising in London. She also worked for Columbia Pictures in Soho, London and later, for the Armstrong Cork Company in Uxbridge, England. She met her future husband, Richard Brentwood Reynolds, when he was in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England. An adventurous spirit, she moved to Aviano, Italy in the early 1960s, where she and Richard married in 1963. They returned to Kingsbury and had the first two of their three children. Next, the family emigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1968, and moved to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea in 1969, where she later worked for the Department of Labour in Rabaul. Their third child was born in Rabaul, PNG. Gwen and family then moved to Zambia, Africa, and later to Taif and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, before moving to the US in 1982. The family moved to Rawdon, Yorkshire, England, in 1984, and in 1988, the family relocated to Gainesville, Florida. Above all else, Gwen cherished her family and was selfless in support of her children. She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Richard. She is also predeceased by her parents and three sisters: Edna Tyler, Joan Parkin and Phyllis Spencer, all of England.
She is survived by her three children, Juliette Cathryn (m. William Hasson), Richard Brentwood Jr., and Victoria Ellen (Reynolds) Tibbitts (m. Tom) and three grandchildren, Tom “Mac” Tibbitts, Magdelyn “Maggie” Tibbitts and Lucy Reynolds. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the US and the UK. Donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606 or to the American Heart Association. Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Reynolds family.

She was a great mum and a class act. What a wonderful adventurous life she had. She will be missed everyday of my life and thankful she is with Dad. God will keep you now and comfort those of us left behind. Love ya Mama.
