James F. Henderson

James Ferrell Henderson, 73, of Newberry, FL, passed away at E.T. York Haven Hospice, on October 27, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and raised in Pompano Beach, FL, coming from Palatka, FL.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran from 1966-1968. He served as a Medic/Dental Tech with the 67^th Evacuation Hospital in Pleiku and the 95^th Evacuation Hospital in DaNang while in Vietnam.

After his service was completed he started a career with Southern Bell, retiring from BellSouth with over 33 years of service.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Ferrell Henderson and Kathryn Harriet Leisy Henderson.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jim is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Deborah Gillispie Henderson. He is also survived by two sons, John Michael Henderson (Shannon), Gainesville, FL and Kevin Jay Henderson (Amanda), Newberry, FL. Other survivors include four grandchildren: Shawn Michael Henderson and Dennis James Henderson of Gainesville, FL, and Brantley Seth Henderson and Sarah Abigail Henderson of Newberry, FL, a sister, Jean Garner, twin brother, Jack Darrell Henderson, and many loving friends and family.

Jim loved his God, Family, and Country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching college football, especially FSU.
