Janet Dale Scott, age 79, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away January 23, 2019 in Jacksonville surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 14, 1939 in Gary, Indiana, daughter of Russel and Lillian (Mills) Scott. Crevasse's Simple Cremation of Jacksonville is honored to be serving the Scott family.

Your mother was one of my closest friends in ministry. The first day we met we sat up all night talking. We followed one another around the northern part of the state, spending most of our time together in Muncie. She was a special soul and I will miss knowing that she and I share the same realm. Blessings and prayers for you all.
Janet was a faithful servant and a joy to be with. I shared many conversations with her and each one is a good memory. Â I give thanks for her faith and know she is now at peace .. I pray for all who grief her passing because she blessed them in the side of eternity

Ruth and I were with Janet the most when I was pastor at Hobart Trinity and she was an active layperson. During those years she sensed God calling her into the ministry. Some of our conversations, as i recall, were about how United Methodists were different from Presbyterians. I remember she laughed a lot, but I can't remember exactly why in retrospect. She has been in our home on occasions since then and we in hers. She was a great person, and we, the United Methodist Church and others who knew her will miss her a lot.
I met Janet at Chesterton UMC. She always have a smile on her face and enjoyed laughing. I always felt uplifted by that time spent with her. May God comfort her family during this time. She is now in God's presence and care.
