Jarrod Aaron Mulligan
December 11, 2000 – May 24, 2018
Jarrod Arron Mulligan, born on December 11, 2000 in Gainesville, Florida, to Tina and Michael Mulligan, passed away peacefully at the age of 17 on May 24, 2018. Jarrod was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. He is survived by his parents, his brother Zachary, and numerous members of his loving extended family. He also leaves behind the affectionate family dog, Cricket.
Jarrod battled for 12 years against childhood cancer and the long term effects from the disease and the treatments necessary to save him. He was an example to all, of someone who never gave up despite the many challenges he faced. He was a fighter. The exceptional care Jarrod received at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital helped him to defeat childhood cancer and survive against long odds. The medical teams in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Memphis deserve many thanks and commendations for the care and love they showed for Jarrod and his family. A special thank you to Haven Hospice for all of their support.
Jarrod loved all University of Florida Gator sports, rooting on his Gators at every opportunity. “Go Gators!”

Jarrod gets to win!!!!

It is the will of God and Nature that these mortal bodies be laid aside, when the soul is to enter into real life; ’tis rather an embrio state, a preparation for living; a man is not completely born until he be dead: Why then should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals? ~Benjamin Franklin, 22 February 1756
