It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Lawrence White, on June 25th, 2026.
John was born in Gainesville, Florida onĀ July 14th, 1943 to Frederick and Marie White.
John was a long time member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
He was a retired postal handler, an avid stamp collector, and a great lover of a wide range of music, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his son William A. White and his siblings.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, left to mourn his loss are his wife Shirley White, daughters Kay Weigel (Jason) and Deborah White, grandchildren Emily Conaty and Lydia Weigel, a grandson, and many other friends and relatives.

Shirley, I’m so sorry about your loss. I was always blessed when I went to Ridgeview to see how knowledgeable y’all were about the Bible. John is truly going to be missed. I love you and hope to see you if I ever get back to Gainesville.

The service for my dad will be Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 pm at Ridgeview Baptist Church.
When is the service ? Mr. White worked with my father and they were close friends.
Dad used to talk about him all the time and how much he admired him.

John had great respect for your dad, always said Wayne knew more about the postal service than anyone else, he wanted to
go see him again but never got around to it.

From 39th ave nad 13th street (441) intersection take 39th ave east to next light which is 19 St and turn left/south on 19 st and church is 1/2 mile down on your right. If anyone needs help please see me. My name is joshua.
