John Patrick Bresnahan

John Patrick Bresnahan, age 58, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a true Irishman, born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1962, in Syracuse, NY. to his parents, Robert J. Bresnahan and Dolores A. (Bednarz) Bresnahan. John succumbed to a lengthy illness with cancer.

John was an avid long distance runner participating in races in and near Jacksonville with his younger sister Maureen and best friend, cousin Bridget Coyne. Some of his favorite local runs were The Gate River Run, Chemo Noir, and Evergreen. John and many family members would also participate in The Shamrock Run(Run for Lori) in Syracuse, NY. in honor of a deceased cousin.

John is survived by his mother, Dolores Bresnahan of Jacksonville, sisters Patricia Bresnahan of Massachusetts, Marjorie Eaton of Arizona, Susan Greene of Pennsylvania and Maureen Motter of Jacksonville. He is also survived by a niece, three nephews, a grand-niece and two grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bresnahan.
