John Vincent O'Neill

John Vincent O'Neill, 84, of Ocala, passed away October 16, 2020. John, formerly of
Bloomsburg, PA., is survived and loved by his wife of 60 years, Judith (Lutz), two
daughters, Jennifer and Jacqueline, his granddaughter, Claire Schuster, his sister, Ellen
Goretsky (of Kulpmont, PA), and various family members. He was the son of the late
John and Emily (Adams) O’Neill of Mt. Carmel, PA. John graduated from Mt. Carmel
(PA) High School where he played football and was on the track team. John held the
PA state high hurdles record for over 50 years. He worked as a truckdriver for various
companies, finishing his working years at Wise in Berwick, PA, where he was awarded
the Million Mile Award for safety. Upon retirement, John participated in dog agility
competitions with his beloved dog, Gy. John was known for his big smile and great
sense of humor. He was an avid Lionel train collector, enjoyed playing with his dogs,
and loved to go on road trips in the RV. Donations can be made in his honor to the
Alzheimer’s Association.

I wish I could post two photos so I could share the one that came after this one…the picture you took of Jacqui, Wayne and me…with your thumb over most of it. That's what I'll remember most…the many laughs we shared. And your deep love and pride for your wife, your daughters, your granddaughter and your dogs. In the end, fun, love and family are the things in life that matter most. You were flush on all three. Rest in peace. We won't forget you.

John was an extremely kind and gentle person, and will be greatly missed. Â Judy, Jacqui & Jenn – you guys did so much for him over the past few years, which I know were hard on all of you. Â I have no doubt that he truly loved and appreciated everything you did for him, and he will be looking out for you from the other side. Â All our love and condolences to you!
