Karl-Heinz Jansen

Dr. Karl-Heinz Jansen, age 76, passed on August 25, 2019.  He was born in Monchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Dr. Jansen had a fulfilling life through the services he provided to humanity in some of society's darkest corners; His geniune kindness towards those in need left a powerful print not likely to be forgotten.  He belived in the motto "joyful participation in the sorrows of the world" by the Dali Lama.

He pursued a career with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department where he retired with the rank of Captain. After retiring from serving in Pinellas County, he began a second career and fulfilled his passion for learning by attaining a Doctorate degree in Psychology.  Dr. Jansen was certified as a Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Correctional Health Professional, Criminal Justice Addiction Professional, and Forensic Psychological Specialist.

After faithfully serving the people of Florida he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sandy around the world, speaking to the local nationals and experiencing the culture.  He also enjoyed spending time at his home in Hawthorne cultivating the abundance that nature offered.

He was a loving, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and counselor.  Dr. Jansen is preceded in death by his father, Heinrich Jansen, mother, Margarethe Jansen, his brother, and son, Gregory Jansen.  He is survived by his wife Sandra Jansen; his daughters Jeannette McNair, and Cheryl Murtha; his son Richard Brooker II, his wife Kelly Brooker and his grandchildren Ian McNair, Eleanor Jansen, Phaedra Jansen, Lindsey Murtha, Caitlyn Murtha, and Ryan Murtha.

He will truly be missed by all.
