Kimber L Barnard

March 21, 2017

Kimber Lee Barnard Adams, 54, of High Springs, Fl, peacefully passed away on March 21, 2017 in Gainesville, Fl. while surrounded by loved ones.

Kimber was born in Fort Myers, Fl. to Loye Little Barnard and Marshall Lee Barnard on October 25, 1962. She grew up near Ichetucknee Springs in Fort White, Fl. where she loved to play in the pine woods, at the quarry, or at the river with her sister, Amelia but they most enjoyed their time riding horses or playing with the family farm goats, chickens, and ducks. One of her favorite things to do as a child was to entertain guests with skits that she would orchestrate.

Driven by her passion for animals, Kimber completed her Zoology degree at Santa Fe College in 1995, graduating with honors. She thoroughly enjoyed rescuing wildlife, spending time with her family, and being outside taking in the beauty of nature. She could tell you anything you wanted to know about most animals and successfully saved more than she could count. Kimber lived for spontaneity and was always the life of the party. She could find humor in any situation and crack a joke without hesitation. Kimber was an indomitable spirit, a survivor, and adventurer who touched many whose paths she crossed.

Kimber left behind her love of many years, Kenny Clark. She is preceded in death by her first love, Alan Adams and is survived by her children, Jonathan Adams and Erin Mullikin, her grandchildren Rhys and Byron "Peanut" Adams and Cole and Lynlee Mullikin, her mother and father Loye and Barney Barnard, and her sister and niece, Amelia and Raina Barnard. Among a number of other relatives and close friends.

To honor Kimber's memory the family asks for donations in her name be made to NAMI -- National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.namigainesville.org and that anyone who can please adopt a sad, lonely animal.

  3. Loye and Barney, I am so deeply sorry to hear this. As a parent, I know that nothing I write here can ease the pain you are feeling. Reading these beautiful words about Kimber makes me sad I never got to meet her. What a beautiful, giving, compassionate person she was. I would have liked her a lot. I am thinking of you both and may your love for one another, your lovely grandchildren and extended family will carry you through the dark nights of the soul and into the light of precious memories. Take care dear friends.
