Linda Joy Rankin, 76, passed away on April 23, 2026, in Jacksonville, FL. Born on March 24, 1950, Linda lived a life filled with love, dedication, and creativity.
Linda worked for many years as a bookkeeper and in various clerical positions. Her meticulous nature and strong work ethic were evident throughout her career. Beyond her professional life, Linda found immense joy in baking and crafting. She was known for her exceptional talent in creating wedding cakes for friends and for her many holiday-themed crafts that brought smiles to those around her.
A devoted member of Mandarin United Methodist Church for over 30 years, Linda was also an active participant in the Adult Choir. Her faith and church community were central to her life, reflecting her kind and caring spirit.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gerald E. “Jerry” Rankin Sr.; her son, Gerald E. “JJ” Rankin Jr.; her sisters, Pamela Brownlee and Laurie Keane of Jacksonville, FL; her niece, Courtney Keane of Flowery Branch, GA; and her great-nephews Michael, Malachi, and Corey McCullough of Flowery Branch, GA. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank R. Cairl of Queens Village, NY, and Mary L. Cairl of Jacksonville, FL; as well as her sister Gail M. Amster of Gibsonton, FL.
Linda’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
