Lois Ann Cook

March 30, 1937 ~ August 29, 2026

Born in: Brooklyn, New York
Resided in: Jacksonville, Florida

Lois Ann Cook, 89, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 30, 1937, Lois was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas Kelly Sr. and Margaret Veronica Condon. She graduated from Ramsey High School in 1954 and then attended modeling school in New York City. Life eventually brought Lois to Florida, where she raised her two children and lived for the remainder of her life.

Lois is survived by her son, David Cook; daughter-in-law, Lisa Cook; daughter, Donna O’Hara; and granddaughter, Riley O’Hara.

For 26 years, Lois worked for the Duval County Property Appraiser’s Office, where she completed her career as an Administrative Manager. After retiring in 2007, she embraced the things she enjoyed most—traveling, attending concerts and Broadway shows, spending time with friends, and doing crossword puzzles.

Lois had a personality all her own. Anyone who knew her knew she was never at a loss for words and never afraid to say exactly what she thought. She told it like it was, and that honesty and unmistakable spirit were part of what made her so special. Her voice, her opinions, her stories, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Lois’s love extended deeply to her pets, each of whom held a special place in her heart over the years: Mr. Chips, Schatzie, KC, Katie, and Kelli. They were not simply pets; they were family.

Lois leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a love that will remain with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, her independence, her love of life, and, most of all, for the people and animals she loved so dearly.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice for the care, compassion, and comfort they provided to Lois and her family during her final days.
