Martin William Dulaney

February 11, 2021

Martin William Dulaney, age 57, lost his battle with cancer 2/11/21.  He lived an adventure.  He will missed by those who's lives he passed thru that Truly cared for him.  His Friends were treasured and by his side in good times and bad, to the last minute.  A " one of a kind man" with"one of a kind Friends".  Friends who knew what it meant to "be there"  for you.  That saying "you choose your friends"  applies and is understood.  What is said after someone dies may be kind......What is shared and accomplished in life is true and enduring.  Martin will be missed.  He was loved.  The impression he left on peoples minds and in their lives will not be forgotten.  May he rest in peace

  1. Truth…good die young. You will be missed by those who knew you well. We are Happy for the time you and your life partner Ruth shared with us. You did so much in little time. My Bill says if you are going to have the good stuff it should be at the end. You finished on top my friend. Till again out paths cross…keep the channel open and your eyes to the sky. Hugs

  2. My friend and brother, Martin Dulaney was the type of man that looked at the wonders of the world and marveled in its greatness. He took the time often to look up towards heaven at the stars to enjoy the beauty of the universe and the wonders it provides. Martin was one of the most intelligent people I have met in my life and he went all in on anything he ever enjoyed or loved such as telescopes, radios, machining, computers, gaming, boating, gunsmithing, shooting, diving or just spending time with his friends at the range. Looking back at our friendship, I truly appreciate the knowledge and wisdom Martin shared with me about his life’s adventures and life’s lessons as knowledge and wisdom are two of the best gifts you can pass on to your friends. A gift that is priceless and has indefinite possibilities more than wealth could ever provide in this life. I will forever treasure the memories good and bad up to the end. I will miss the conversations we had about life and all the trials and tribulations that it brings. I will miss our days at the range talking trash about who was the better shot (He always was always a better shot!) but most of all I will miss just our everyday friendship as good friends are very hard to find. Martin was one of very few good TRUE friends that I have, one of those friends that you are fortunate enough to meet in life that you can count on one hand. Up to his very last breath Martin took full advantage of his time and looked at it as a “new experience, one that I have never had to go through yet” and he never stopped seeking knowledge to the last minute of his life. He fought a valiant fight like no other warrior I have known and never gave up even in his darkest days on the battlefield. I will forever remember his strength and courage as my friend and brother has shown me how to live with love and fight death with dignity. RIP my brother. Until we meet again the memories we shared will need to get me through.
“Make the most of every day, don’t put things off until tomorrow”. Martin Dulaney

  3. Martin, or as I call you in the early years Marty. I still slipped up and call you by that name once in a while but I had been grandfathered in so you let it slide. I consider myself lucky to know you and fortunate to be considered a friend. You were more than a friend you were a brother. An, I'll bring a shovel kind of friend. We met as young men were weren't quite men but thought we were. Most of our shenanigans remain classified to this day not that anyone would believe them….
As we went thru life we were some time apart for several years but when we got back together it was like no time had passed at all. A sign of true friendship. Time changed us both but never took our friendship away, for that I am grateful. We were never at a loss for words and always had good conversations. I can hear you say, "someone to have an intelligent conversation with.
The world is not the same today with out you in it. You were a man among men and a friend among friends. You never lacked the caring, skill or motivation to help someone or to solve a problem. There was nothing you couldn't do because you were always willing to try.
As we talked about in our last conversation, save me a seat at the table brother, I'll be along sooner or later. Till then… Much Love

  8. I didn't know Martin that well. But my friend Ruth said he took her breath away. And that good enough for me. Rest easy soldier, you fought an honorable fight.

  9. I’ve known you for a long time and I know you put up one hell of a fight! All the years we were tight, I’ll never forget. Working with you was a blast. We had a lot of good times. You’ve always asked me to keep an eye on Kelly and the girls and I will continue to do so. She knows you still loved her. You were always a player but she’s always had your heart. Your secrets will always be safe with me. Cause a raucous up there and I hope you are on a boat somewhere!!! See you later Bud! LB

  10. Marty lived his live on his terms. In his passing, I hope he found the peace that eluded him in life. He was my brother and he was loved.
