Mary Jo "Jody" Todd, age 86, of Trenton, Florida, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at E.T. York Haven Hospice Care Center in Gainesville. She was born in Nicholasville, Kentucky, September 20, 1932, to Cecil Penick and Helen Josephine Wills.
Mary Jo graduated from McGuffey High School, Oxford, Ohio, in 1950. She is survived by her son, Lonald "Lonny" Mitchell Hendricks, Ramseur, North Carolina; her daughter, Jody (Jerry) Heflin, Gainesville, Florida; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother James "Butch" (Melody) Wills, Inverness, Florida; her sisters Captain Jacquelyn S. Wills (Marie Marino), Gulf Breeze, Florida and Cecilia Kay McQuiston, Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania; along with other close friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Todd (84); her daughters Tonda Jolene McCurdy (56) and Tresa Darlene Angle (55); her son Cecil Edward Hendricks (56); and her sister Sharon Shope (68). Mary Jo touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile, laughter, and sweet personality. She will be remembered for her love of Bluegrass and Gospel music, playing bingo with her friends and most of all, her love for animals. She always made room on her lap for her "four-legged babies" and showered them in tender affection. She had a special place in everyone's heart and will never be forgotten.
