Matthew Thurston

January 19, 2021

Matthew Graham Thurston, 41, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2021. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 1, 1979.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer and son Deklan, two brothers John and Charles, nephew Casey,

and mother and father Margaret and William Thurston.

Matthew spent his rough and tumble younger years in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Later, the family moved to Erie, Pennsylvania. Still a little rough and tumble, he finished school, and met his future wife Jennifer (he even asked her father for permission to marry).

He obtained an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology and moved back to Cincinnati with his family and was a skilled Journeyman Electrician.

The family later moved to Florida, and after working as an electrician, he enlisted in the US Army Infantry and spent a tour in Iraq in 2010/2011.

His most recent goal was to work with the VA to help Vets suffering from PTSD.

Through his life journey he acquired a tremendous amount of lifelong friends.

Along with his contagious laugh, he enjoyed reading, cartoons, movies and quality conversation.

Matthew had a tremendous amount of heart...whatever he had, you could have.

He loved his family and friends dearly, and they all loved him in return. He will be sorely missed by all.

  1. I’m so so very sorry to hear about Matt. He was best friends with my brother and I remember him being a really nice and super funny guy! This is a tremendous loss to so many and my prayers and deepest sympathy go out to all that loved Matt especially his mom and dad. He will be resurrected on the last day, gods promise
