Rest peacefully in God’s arms, my Brother
Michael Allen Scott, born on October 25, 1959, in LaFayette, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William “Bill” Scott.
Michael is survived by his beloved daughter, Allison Scott, and her husband, Matthew Brock; and by his grandchildren, Reuben, Elliot, and Emmeline “Millie” Brock. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Gerard, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and his brother, Paul Scott, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Michael was a proud Coast Guard veteran who served for several years during his twenties. He often shared stories from his time in service and the many adventures he experienced along the way. He carried a strong work ethic throughout his life and took great pride in every job he held. He spent 35 years working in the hospitality industry, where many people would reference him as being their favorite manager of all time because of his leadership, humor, and the care he showed to those around him.
In more recent years, Michael found joy in life on the road, spending many years driving his truck across America. Along his travels, he captured photographs of the beautiful landscapes and places he encountered. Though he lived in many places throughout his life, Tennessee and Florida were the places he called home most often, with Florida becoming where he ultimately settled.
Michael was also an avid music lover who enjoyed playing his guitar and sharing his appreciation for music with those around him.
Through organ donation, after his passing, Michael helped save the lives of three people.
He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his stories and adventures, his love of music, and the love he had for his family, friends, and Jesus.
