Ada Olene Phillips
August 31, 1942 – August 7, 2026
Olene Phillips, 83, of Gainesville, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on August 7, 2026.
Olene was born on August 31, 1942, in Cuthbert, GA, to Albert and Mary Adams. She brought joy and sunshine to the world the day she entered it and continued to show her light throughout her life.
Olene was a devoted mother, sister, friend, and the most amazing Meemaw, who loved her garden almost as much as she loved her family. She will be especially remembered for her laugh that lit up the room, her adoration for her family and the people close to her, the delightful ability to feed you when you were hungry, and her unconditional love.
Olene is survived by her sister Iris Goolsby (Jerry), her children Tamara Keith, Rebecca Phillips (Lucinda), David Phillips (Jane), Robert Phillips, and Rahna Phillips (Steve), her grandchildren, Chris Keith, Tiffany Gray (John), Marcus McDaniel (Mary), Stephanie Drake (Durwood), Kimberly Ackerman, Megan Barnes (Wesley), Scott Phillips, Mason Phillips, Keira Phillips, Ricky Phillips (Nealy), Ophelia Phillips, Samantha Daugherty (JD), Rachel Cowart (Michael), 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several beloved nieces, nephews, and many excellent friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Avery (DJ) and her father Albert Cecil Adams; her sister Cellia Adams Johnson (Carl); her son William Frederick Phillips Jr. (Susan); and several very close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Haven Hospice, if desired.
Olene leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will live on through everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her.
There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:5

Thank you for being such a wonderful influence in my younger years and the care you gave to my children! I have and will continue to remember you with great fondness and admiration of the woman you were! I know you are in the presence of our savior, God and singing with the Angles! Love always! Kathy Wolfe
Too Robert and Keira I’m so sorry for you tremendous loss. I know how much over the years you have loved and cared for her. Praying for the whole family in this difficult time. Live your Brandy Flores
I shared some memorable times with Olene at the church in High Springs in the presence of our Lord! One of her granddaughters were there as well when I received a message from our Lord. I will never forget it. Love to Olene’s family! ❤️🙏
That’s the greatest thing, Olene always looked out for everyone else. I remember her giving me tomatoes from her yard, talking about our day when she lived where Texas Roadhouse is. I remember having amazing ham with her and her family but mostly I remember the feeling that I felt being around her that you were home, safe, and loved. She will be greatly missed and always loved!
Sending much love to all 💜
