Patricia Dixon Shoup, 78, of Keystone Heights, FL passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 after a series of illnesses. She was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Franklin W. Dixon, Sr. and Miriam W. (Dixon) Poole on January 3, 1940. She graduated from Atherton High School in Louisville, KY where she sang with the Motet Singers, an acapella chorus. Pat was a certified Orthotist for many years in Naples, FL. She was active in several theater groups and enjoyed singing in her church choir.
Pat had a passion for life and blessed others through her many talents. She was always ready to help and could be counted on to burst into song at any given moment. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her!
Pat was predeceased by her husband, James W. Shoup, Jr., her step father, Fred R. Poole of Keystone Heights, FL, her step sister Mary P. Kohn of Jacksonville, FL and her step brother Ronald Webb of Louisville, KY. Survivors include her four children, Jamie (David) Lloyd of Oak Island, NC, James B. (Heather) Pilkenton, Jr. of Naples, FL, Laura Stermer of Wilmington, NC, Paige (Andy) Harada of Savannah, GA, 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are her step mother, Dorothy Coslow of Frankfort, KY, siblings, Miriam “Susie” (Stacy) Grice of Melrose, FL, Franklin W. “Dick” (Linda) Dixon, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Peggy Dixon of Louisville, KY, and Sharon (Glenn) Dempsey of Frankfort, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
